After Uzi Jungle I was excited to learn from my mistakes
Gun Game 2 was exactly the game I wanted to make from front to back. I wrote a new FPS framework from the ground up with an eye towards server authority, and procedural animations. This same framework would eventually get reused for Super Darts
Gun game 2 was a take on the classic game mode, but with a couple of twists. Players were dropped into colorful levels, and told to get 2 kills in 1 life to progress to the next weapon (instead of the usual 1). At first they started with a rotation of 10 weapons, but every time they reached the last weapon in the rotation a new one would be added up to a total of 30 weapons.
Some of the key features were: destructible environments (everything colored yellow would break when you shot it), weapons variants that could be unlocked to change how the 30 weapons looked/worked, and various game modes that would change how you progressed between weapons.
This was also the first project that I learned how to properly 3D model game ready assets for. Although I had used blender before, I leaned towards voxel styles for previous my games that were easier to make. This would prove a useful skill for all of my future projects
